As the name suggests, the Cheap Panerai Replica Luminor Marina eSTEEL™️ (PAM01358) features eSTEEL™️, a “new, recyclable steel alloy”. While there were some sophisticated options, as well as diving options, there was no standalone range at the time and Panerai’s portfolio was a bit limited.
A few years later, I chatted with a Panerai employee who summed up the brand as “masculine,” “Royal Italian Navy,” “Florentine,” and “historic.” The company has its core line, and anything new seems destined to go down the same path.
Two years later, Panerai Replica entered the sub-40mm segment with the Luminor Due in a 38mm case. Although the model was not marketed as a women’s model, the short strap and feminine colors suggest that this model is aimed at women for the first time.
Now, Panerai has once again demonstrated its penchant for technological innovation. This time, it introduced a new model with a case and dial made of “new recyclable steel alloys”. The Panerai Luminor Marina eSTEEL™️ (PAM01358) grade 1 replica watch represents a new, responsible and sustainable image of watchmaking.
This eSTEEL™️ model has a total mass of 152.4 grams and contains 89 grams (58.4%) of “recyclable materials”. Panerai reports that eSTEEL has the same chemical behavior, physical structure and corrosion resistance as non-recycled alloys.
However, aside from the admirable way of recycling, I can’t help but wonder if Panerai’s latest offering has the same remarkable qualities as its siblings. So I had to stick the Panerai Luminor Marina quality replica watch on my wrist and evaluate its ingredients up close.
The dial
The dial is usually made of metal, usually brass. After that, the metal is electroplated to fill the surface with a base color. In this case, the dial is made of eSTEEL™️. The alloy is then presented in three shades: “Blu Profondo”, “Verde Smeraldo” and my favorite “Grigio Roccia”.
The Panerai 1:1 replica watches swiss dial is polished and features a tin-grey gradient tone on the top of the dial and a charcoal on the bottom of the dial. Consistent with other Luminor Marina models, the dial features the brand’s famous sandwich construction. The index consists of holes cut into the upper layer, revealing the lower membrane and its contrasting white hue.
While most markers are simple batons, the markers at the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions are Arabic numerals, rendered in a modern sans-serif font. The sandwich structure offers a fascinating vista, imparting different depths. The hour and minute hands feature a baton-like design, concise and optimized to convey meaning. Consistent with other Expensive Panerai replica watch, the hands and hour markers are heavily coated with luminous material.
A small seconds display resides at 9 o’clock, a detail seen on the iconic Luminor Panerai of 1950, a model that was equipped with the famous Angelus 8-day movement. Panerai continues to reference models from its past and, despite the passage of time, such vintage-inspired details still proffer much eye appeal. An aperture at 3 o’clock reveals the prevailing date. Upholding horological etiquette, the colour of the date disc matches the hue of the neighbouring areas of the dial.
Located above 6 o’clock is the brand’s nomenclature, presented in capital letters, below which, ‘eSteel’ branding is presented in a two-tone form.
The case
Panerai replica watches USA used eSTEEL™️ in the case of this watch to “reduce the need for virgin material extraction and its associated high environmental impact”. Obviously, this is not an easy task.
One of the features of a watch is that the lugs are not too long, allowing the watch to wear less than its specified diameter. Don’t worry, though, if you’re craving a smaller Panerai, the brand has a variety of suitable options to suit your needs, although they won’t be made from this novel recycled steel alloy.
Although Panerai has a long history of making diving watches for the Royal Italian Navy, there is nothing practical about this particular model. Instead, the case is dominated by brushed stainless steel, while the bezel is highly polished, giving the watch a deliciously decadent quality. The two forms of finish combine to create the overall appeal of this sublime watch.
The crown section is wrapped with a lever mechanism that protects the winding crown from shocks and prevents any potential entry of water. This detail, which first appeared on the company’s models as early as the 1940s, is a signature feature that distinguishes Luminor models from competing diver models.
The crown protector is again made of a “recycled base steel alloy”. On the vertical sides of the device, the “eSTEEL” branding appears further, albeit elegantly and discreetly. On the back of the watch, there’s no ubiquitous sapphire caseback. Instead, the caseback is sturdy, in keeping with the diver’s watch tradition.
The movement
At the heart of the Panerai Luminor Marina eSTEEL™️ (PAM01358) is the Calibre P.9010. This self-winding movement is “completely designed and developed by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel”.
Panerai outfitted this movement with some interesting details. First, it has a “quick adjustment system” that allows the wearer to move the hour hand forward or backward in discrete one-hour increments, completely independent of the minute hand. I doubt it would be useful for globetrotters flying between different time zones.
Another highlight is that the movement is equipped with two barrels, which provide a power reserve of up to 3 days. However, there is another benefit. Two barrels generally provide a more stable power supply to the escapement than using one barrel alone. If the dynamics of the escapement were more consistent, the amplitude would be less prone to fluctuations, helping accuracy.
The balance frequency is 28,800 vph (4Hz) and the movement contains 31 jewels. Since the watch comes with a sturdy caseback, I can’t comment on the touch-ups.
More and more brands are exploring space-age materials. In recent times, however, the once humble and no-nonsense stainless steel has also become the subject of constant improvement. Some varieties are whiter and some are more skin friendly.
With the Luminor Marina eSTEEL™️ (PAM01358), there is a welcome sense of familiarity. The sandwich dial, the baton hands, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the crown protection device are all wonderfully Panerai.
The polished bezel looks sumptuous and the gorgeous graduated tint of the dial proves exquisite. As for eSTEEL™️, it appears to benefit the environment with no discernible disadvantages to the wearer.
